South Indian Pepper Rasam
Serves: 4 – 5 people
Recipe Instructions:
- Soak and pressure cook toor dal (1 cup) with salt and ½ tsp turmeric until soft.
- Heat ghee (1 tbsp) in pan and add black mustard seeds.
- Let it splutter and then add curry leaves (10), red chilli (2 broken), tamarind paste (2 tbsp) and Sarva Pepper Rasam Powder (2 tbsp).
- Stir it will and then add dal, tomato puree ( 10 strained tomatoes), jaggery and 2 cups of water.
- Add salt to taste and check consistency by adding more water if required.
- Boil for 10 minutes.
- Your Authentic Rasam is now ready!
- Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with rice.
